Ulvik er nok mest kjent for sine frukt- og sidergårder. Hardangerfjordområdet er kjent som Norges frukthage. Ingen steder i verden er det mulig å dyrke frukt på denne breddegraden (ca. 60 grader nord). Det milde klimaet i Hardangerregionen, den beskyttende geografien mot elementene og de lange sommerdagene gir en ideell beliggenhet for fruktdyrking. Vi tar deg langs ciderruten og stopper innom de ulike familiedrevne sidergårder hvor du kan oppleve stoltheten og arven som eierne har lagt i produktene sine i flere generasjoner. Hver sidergård har sin unike spesialiteter og tilnærming til bearbeiding av frukt og mat. Og hvem vet, får vi kanskje en smaksprøve på veien! Detaljer Denne aktiviteten er en guidet vandring langs siderruten, hvor du blir kjent med sidergårdene og deres produkter. Inkludert Guide + ulike smaksprøver av sider og eplemost. Vanskelighet og sikkerhet Denne turen er beregnet for alle aldersgrupper. Det forventes ingen spesielle krav. Små barn fra 5 år kan delta, hvis de er i følge med foreldre. Recreational and educational private kayak trip on the fjord of Ulvik with an experienced instructor and guide. Not only will you enjoy the fun and sportive kayaking experience, but you will also get to learn some basic skills for surviving in nature, and learn about the fascinating local culture and history. After the initial instruction, we will paddle to an island on the fjord, where you will learn to make fire, identify edible plants and, if weather conditions permit, help set up a makeshift shelter. Then we paddle to a peninsula where we go ashore. You will learn how people lived and survived in the old days and how they used nature. Our guide will talk about local traditions, and, tell some amazing stories about historical events that took place in this little paradise. Included - Experienced guide * Kayak rental * paddles * safety jacket *  Difficulty level & safety - All age groups. No special requirements or experience are expected. Young children from age 5 may participate, if accompanied by parents. Participation is at your own responsibility. - signing a waiver is mandatory. Excursion with a guide to the roughest part of Hardangervidda. Spectacular journey through Austdalen, with breath-taking views and waterfalls to “Langevatn” a reservoir lake at alt. 1,200m, with a view on Hardanger Jøkulen, a large glacier. The guide tells the fascinating history of 100 years of "energy" in Osa. On the way back down, we visit the breathtaking waterfall “Roykafossen. Then we go to the historic, 100y old "Kafeen" for a pancake lunch. After lunch the tour continues to the tunnels of Osa. A historical view on the epic plan to turn Osa into a city for 6,000 people, develop a railway and metal industry. A telling of the extraordinary story of Fossekompani, who, in 1912, started the construction of a hydroelectric power plant. In the roughest area of Hardangervidda, under harsh conditions, many kilometers of tunnels were constructed, including a vertical shaft of nearly 1 km inside the mountain. After bankruptcy in 1923, the project was halted, and then resumed during WW II under German occupation, but abandoned again within 2 years. Ultimately, none of the many projects were completed. Experience the extraordinary story of likely the largest industrial archaeological site in Norway. What to wear Shoes or boots suitable for shallow pools A warm jacket or sweater (temperature in the tunnels about 7 ° C year-round) Note: in Hardangervidda, the temperature is always about 10°C colder than Fjord-level.
